A Tribute to 21 years

A tribute is an act of showing gratitude or respect and yes this is my tribute to the 21 years of my life.

From the time my mom caught my hand to teach me to walk , to the time I left her hand and started walking by myself , to the time I started running and won my first race , to the time I don’t think of holding my mom’s hand.
From the time my dad carried me and tickled me to make me laugh , to the time he would not carry me because I’d become tall and he was scared my head would hit the fan , to the time I myself grew so tall that I don’t raise my arm high fearing it would hit the fan.
From the time I got a star for writing an alphabet or saying a poem , to the time I got A+ for writing A-Z correctly , to the time I got A+ for writing tables without a mistake , to the time i got 5 marks for writing a 5 point answer , to the time I got 5 marks for writing a 10 point answer , to the time I got 5 marks for writing an essay , to the time I got 5 marks for writing a whole answer paper of 16 sides.
From the time we brothers started walking together and wore similar clothes for Christmas , to the time we played cricket in the house breaking things , to the time we played 3-way football in the house breaking each other’s legs , to the time we went to different college and made different choices in our career , to the time where we are in different cities and more importantly different ‘places’ in life.
From the first time I had a rough fall and my grandmother bandaged me , to the time I fell and my grandmother wasn’t well enough and handed me the first aid kit to bandage myself , to the time my grandmother is up there watching me and I don’t even bandage myself.
From the time I was told I look like my younger brother , to the time my younger brother was told he looks like my elder brother , to the time where looking at my brothers people told me that I should start eating , to the time where my elder brother is shorter than me and my younger brother is taller than me and none of us look similar.
From the time I became kutti with my best friend for not saying hi to me , to the time i became kutti with my friends for robbing my tiffin , to the time where i realised that kutti batti in friendships doesn’t mean much , to the time i realised that even know we are cutti and batti wit friends but we don’t show or say it explicitly
From the time I used to love chocolates and toys , to the time I loved only chocolates , to the time where I am not excited much about even chocolates.
From the time I took the brick game- video game in my hand , to the time I played the TV video game , to the time I played on the computer , to the time I played on mobile phones , to the time where games aren’t interesting but I know to use all devices necessary.
From the time I watched chip and dale on DD One , to the time I watched some cartoons on cartoon network , to the time I stopped watching animated stuff.
From the time I rode a tricycle , to the time I learnt the cycle without falling even once , to the time I learnt to ride a bike somewhat and met with an accident , to the time I(think I) know to ride the bike avoiding accidents (Insha’Allah)

All these and many more have been a part of the 21 years. The 21 years I won’t get back. The 21 years I would probably live the same way if I had a chance. The 21 years that have made me what I am. The 21 years that had ups and downs. The 21 years that made me stronger. The 21 years that I’ve lived on my parents only. The 21 years of a roller coaster ride.
All through the 21 years: I’ve learnt. I’ve grown. And more importantly I’ve lived :) :)
