Thank You

They love you the most
And who are these ‘They’
Your parents Of course
That’s what you’ll say.

They took care of you
When you were small
Right there for you
As soon as you call.

You stood on your feet
They taught you to walk
You heard all their speech
And soon learnt to talk.

They reached you to school
They brought you back home
You said you were bored
They took you to roam.

They bought your many sweets
They gave you new toys
Darkness never scared you
When you heard their voice.

They taught you to read
They taught you to write
They brought you clothes
You looked smart and bright.

They answered with patience
All the questions you asked
They worked hard for you
As you slept and basked.

They taught you to cycle
As you started to grow
They were afraid you’ll leave them
But never would show.

They taught you good values
And put in their best
And it is time alone
That puts them to the test.

They told you be honest
Please don’t ever lie
You think they’re strict
And are trying to spy.

You passed out of school
And even through college
You think you are smarter
And have much more of knowledge.

You get a good job
And set off to work
You put in your best
And get your first perk.

You get back from work
And guess what you find
They are not there at home
But in the garden behind.

You set up the cake
Before they could return
They made you happy
Now it was your turn.

They enter the room
And these moments they cherish
Their struggles and troubles
Will now finally perish.
